Broken and Blessed

Suffering can make it hard to see the good in our journey.

But the good is still there.

Reflections

A short poem about mental health, Broken and Blessed reflects on how trauma and suffering can shape the way we see both ourselves and the world around us. The speaker searches for answers, yet cannot recognize any good or blessing in his life. He remains “blind to repair.”

The wise man offers a fresh outside perspective — one capable of seeing beyond the speaker’s despair. While the speaker sees only brokenness, the wise man understands that suffering and blessing can exist side by side. A difficult life can still hold meaning, value, and even beauty.

At its core, Broken and Blessed is about the limitations of human perception. Sometimes pain narrows our vision so completely that we can no longer recognize the good that still remains within us, around us, and ahead of us. Yet the good is still there.

Question for you

Have you ever gone through a time when you only saw what was wrong and later realized the good around you?

Affirmation

I do not judge my life by hardships alone. Even in difficult times, goodness and meaning still remain.
