Let Me Tell You a Story

Short poem titled “Let Me Tell You a Story,” illustrated and displayed beside a dramatic watercolor image of a sailor surviving a storm at sea beneath a glowing sky

Somewhere beyond the storm, a new world waits.

Reflections

Let Me Tell You a Story is a short poem about hope and life experience. It tells of a sailor who survives a shipwreck because he kept holding on through the darkness. What waits for him on the shore is not merely safety, but a completely new beginning.

The poem suggests that many of us may be living through our own long nights — times of loneliness, anxiety, disappointment, or change. A good story can remind us that difficult moments are often not the end of the journey. Sometimes they are the passage into a new world we cannot yet see.

Even after a shipwreck, life may still carry us somewhere beautiful.

Question for you

Can you describe a difficult time in life that led you to something unexpected?

Affirmation

Even in times of uncertainty, I can keep holding on. There is always the possibility of something new and better ahead.
