Short poem titled “My Soul and Me,” illustrated and displayed on a soft watercolor beach scene with a small snail near the shoreline and gentle waves in the background

Even if the journey is slow,

what matters most is the direction you go

Reflections

My Soul and Me is a short poem about life experience and personal growth. In our everyday life, progress often feels slow, uncertain, and full of setbacks. Like a snail moving along a restless shore, we take small steps forward, only to be pushed back by life’s waves.

But progress is not only measured by speed or distance. Even when we stumble or lose our way, something important may be happening. We are learning, adjusting, and continuing on.

In the end, what matters most is not how quickly we move, but the direction we choose to go.

Question for you

Was there a time when slow progress led you somewhere meaningful?

Affirmation

I allow myself to move slowly when needed; I trust the direction I am going.

"Like a snail inching along a restless shore...what matters most is the direction we go..."

The word choice, the imagery, the message... thank you again, Michael!
